Lovaas Residence: Lexington, Kentucky, 1968 Built on three levels, the Lovaas House curves to fit grades, focus views and to cradle an outdoor swimming pool. Wide eaves and a five-foot roof overhang shelters the high glass windows while permitting the sun's rays to enliven interior space. A continuous clerestory separates roof planes and provides a balanced light. Concrete masonry walls and tiebeams with sprayed plaster finish define dining, conversation and other areas and contain fixtures for indirect light. |
