The Lyne Residence: Houston, Texas, 1957
Planned for one person, the triangle was selected because its dynamism and angularity suited the personality of the client. Built on a lot without an interesting view, the house focuses on a small open space with natural light and a tree. Exterior walls screen out neighboring houses.
Spanish tile walls of deep brown and purple hues, overlaid on copper strips bring beauty and substance close to the client, who expressed preferences for strong textures and Mexican crafts. |
